Last week we were on Dolomites; weather was not perfect really but we did some of the most characteristic Via Ferrata of the Alps anyway.
First day we had breakfast looking 5cm of fresh and soft snow just outside the hut, so we chose to do some Via Ferrata training in the morning. Then moved to Passo Falzarego in the afternoon to climb the Lagazuoi via Gallerie. We climbed up through First World War Italian tunnels, equipped perfectly. After some photos at sunset we were just in time to enjoy a good dinner and what a nice view: Croda da Lago, Tofana, Antelao e Marmolada!
Next day we chose for downhill the Kaiserjager track, well equipped with cables too and by a suspension bridge also. We visited Valparola and Sass de Stria old fortifications; all these military posts made me feeling as I was born in the right place at the right time. For a bunch of unlucky people these mountains was not a place where spent holidays but just the hell…
The days after we visited Tre Cime di Laveredo with their impressive north faces, the nice Fanes Waterfall track and the short but vertical and athletic via ferrata on Torre di Toblin.
Thanks to Mandala Travel to organization but especially to Sakari, Laura, Sari, Lauri and Taru for their enthusiasm and good mood during the evenings in the hut!
